About this winery

Product notes
A warm and wet Winter was followed by a cold and extremely wet Spring. This demanded extensive labour to protect the vineyards. Ripening was slightly delayed but a hot and dry Summer favoured the development of healthy grapes. A globally dry harvest with very welcomed moderate spells of rain ensured what ended up to be a hig hquality crop.
Production notes
Grapes were hand-picked and transported to the cellar in 20kg boxes. The whole bunches were placed in stainless steel tanks, where they fermented with autochthonous yeasts and minimal intervention.
Tasting notes
In parallel to Bastardo, Legítimo offers an alternative to the vast clientele that was disappointed every year with the early sell out of a wine that gained faithful followers over time. Legítimo uses the traditional varieties from the Douro but looks for the same seductive appeal of the Bastardo, a spicy lightness that makes it soft, fresh and desirable. Made with minimal intervention for a natural, stripped-down and straightforward style.
