About this winery
Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's greatest domaines. Product notes
It would seem that this village came into existence in the 12th century, when laymen were working just nearby at Clos Vougeot for the monks of Cîteaux. Like many Côte de Nuits villages at the end of the 19th Century, Chambolle chose to add the name of its best cru to the village name, becoming Chambolle-Musigny in 1878.
Production notes
The hand-picked harvest goes through a short pre-fermentary maceration before being vinified. For the duration of the 15-18 day vatting period, the wine is kept at low temperature. It is then matured in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, in nineteenth century vaulted cellars which provide ideal conditions for wines.
Tasting notes
A beautiful, brilliant garnet-red colour. The nose is very pretty with woody and fruity notes. On the palate there are grilled and fruity notes and very ripe cherry aromas. The tannins are present without being too intrusive or aggressive. An elegant wine, fine and pedigreed.
