About this winery

Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's greatest domaines. William Kelley, January 2020 (Vintage 2018)

There are 10 barrels of Domaine Faiveley's 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts Monopole, a lovely wine that opens in the glass to reveal aromas of cassis, smoked meats, dark chocolate and earthy forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a deep core of succulent fruit, rich and refined tannins and a sapid finish.

Tim Atkin, October 2019 (Vintage 2018)

Well situated next to the Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru, the Faiveley holdings come from two terraces that are fermented separately. Never opulent, even in a vintage like 2018, this is floral, racy and textured, with a hint of ageworthy reduction, crunchy acidity and expertly integrated 50% new wood. A Gevrey for people who like finesse in their Pinot Noir.
