About this winery

Founded in 2008, KOVAL, the first Chicago-based distillery since the 1880s, produces organically grown whiskey, liqueurs and specialty spirits. Founders Robert and Sonat Birnecker left their academic careers to bring Robert's Austrian family's distilling traditions to the United States.
