Antonio Galloni, (Vintage 2013)Voerzio's 2013 Barolo Sarmassa comes across as round, sensual and inviting. Even so, it is also less open and deep than some of the other wines in this range. Bright floral notes, chalk, mint and white pepper add nuance to the dark red stone fruit flavors. The French oak tannins need time to settle. Otherwise, this is a fine showing.
