Sette Ponti reflects the vision of Dr. Antonio Moretti, who took over the estate from his father in the late 1990's, and immediately began producing estate-bottled wines. The vineyards occupy a total of 150 acres, at an altitude of 200 to 300 meters; the oldest vines (mostly sangiovese) date from 1935. Sangiovese from vines located on well-drained land with diverse soils: rocky, sandy, and the typical Tuscan Galestro (schist-clay), which gives it great structure and minerality. Hand-harvested and sorted. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 20 days with temperature control, followed by 18 months of aging in used barrels. Refined for 6 months in the bottle.
The intense ruby color suggests a pronounced and complex nose of ripe red fruits such as cherry and wild berries, floral notes like violet, fine herbs, and spicy hints, giving it class and elegance. The palate is elegant, reflecting the fruit and spices perceived on the nose, along with a lovely freshness and soft tannins.

Bright, bursting with black cherry, plum, leather, menthol and spice flavors. Smooth and harmonious, with fine grip on the earth- and mineral-tinged finish. Sangiovese and Merlot. Drink now through 2028.
