About this winery

The Siro Pacenti estate was founded in 1971, but its story truly began in 1988 when Giancarlo Pacenti (Siro's son) decided to fully dedicate himself to managing the family estate. It was in the early 1990s, during a visit to Bordeaux, that Giancarlo began to gain a deep understanding of the Montalcino terroir. The total estate includes 20 hectares of cereal crops and 20 hectares of olive groves and woods as well as 20 hectares of sangiovese grosso vineyards. Production is 60,000 bottles per...

Antonio Galloni, (Vintage 2017)

Leave it to Giancarlo Pacenti to make one of the most polished Rossos of 2017. Sleek and racy, with tons of persistence, the 2017 is super-expressive today. Dark cherry, spice, menthol, licorice and espresso all run through this mid-weight, striking Rosso. All the elements are impeccably balanced, in a pliant, racy Rosso that delivers the goods. This is such a delicious wine.

June 2019 (Vintage 2017)

Ripe plum, baking-spice, menthol and blue-flower aromas lead the way on this young red. Savory and medium bodied, the palate delivers succulent black cherry, coffee bean, mint and licorice alongside close-grained tannins. Drink through 2021.

Aldo Fiordelli, (Vintage 2019)

Established in the 1970s, the Pacenti estate bottled its first vintage in 1988 and since then has grown, following a professional approach to viticulture with a particular attention to phenolic ripeness. The grapes used for the Rosso di Montalcino come from vines between 15 and 25 years old, aged in second-fill French oak barrels. The 2019 is full of plush fruit: raspberry and cherry, violet, liquorice stick and toast in depth, with ash and black pepper notes. Almost full on the palate, it shows well refined tannins with great youthful texture and an extremely fresh acidity, supported by the richness of fruit. Good structure for a Rosso.
