About this winery
Sokol Blosser is one of the pioneering estates of the Oregon state wine industry. Product notes
2013 was the driest year since 1985, which was one of the best years for Pinot Noir at Sokol Blosser. Harvest started on September 10 and ended on October 10, making this the first time in more than a decade where grapes were picked over a five week period. This low yield crop is dry-farmed for quality and is comprised of grapes that are all from Dijon, Pommard and Wadensvil clones. Handpicked, handsorted and carefully destemmed, this Pinot Noir made with 100% organic grapes, certified by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
Production notes
Fermented for 5-7 days with post-fermentation maceration for 21 days to add complexity. The wine was then 100% barrel-aged in French oak for 16 months with 31% new barrels.

Expressive and bright, the 2013 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir showcases dark fruit flavors of cherry and blueberry with earthy and spicy characteristics that are reflective of the winery's Jory soil.
