Product notes

The Grenache for our Vin Gris came from bespoke sections of the Central Coast AVA, harvested at the appropriate maturity level for this elegant style of wine: 46% Rava Vineyard (Monterey County), 29% Steinbeck Vineyard (Paso Robles), 12% Loma Del Rio Vineyard (Monterey County), 7% Beeswax Vineyard (Arroyo Seco), 6% Alta Loma Vineyard (Monterey County)

Production notes

The wine is left on its lees post-fermentation which allow the development of a wonderful creaminess and persistent aromas.

Tasting notes

It's really the Grenache that dominate this blend; Grenache in a cool vintage is nothing if not extraordinary blessing. One finds olfactorily the usual suspects: wild strawberry, peach, guava and rhubarb and very discreet scent of whte pepper. We have continued the practice of leaving the wine post-fermentation on its lees to great effect; the wine has a wonderful creaminess and length on the palate in virtue of this enlightened practice. - Randall Graham (Winemaker/Founder)

Josh Raynolds, August 2019 (Vintage 2018)

Extremely pale pink. Incisive red berry and citrus pith qualities on the nose, along with suave floral, spice and mineral flourishes. Lithe and sharply focused on the palate, offering tangy strawberry, red currant and orange zest flavors and a touch of honeysuckle. Finishes dry and taut, with resonating florality and persistent red berry and mineral notes. This wine's blend of depth and finesse is pretty impressive, especially in light of its price.

Light, shimmering orange. Fresh red berry and citrus fruit aromas are complemented by suggestions of candied rose and pungent herbs. Silky and open-knit, showing good depth to the raspberry, cherry and bitter orange pith flavors. Tightens up slowly on a long, spice-inflected finish that leaves a gently sweet red fruit note behind.
