Located in Cadaujac, 200 meters from Château Bouscaut, Château Lamothe-Bouscaut is an old wine estate. The house dates back to the 12th century. Part of the actual vineyard was on the Belleym map (18th century). Lamothe Bouscaut wines were very famous in the 19th century. The Martin family acquired the estate at the end of World War II. In 1969, the vines are loaned to Château Bouscaut. And finally Sophie Lurton and Laurent Cogombles, owners of Chateau Bouscaut, acquired the estate in 1999. The vineyard is composed of 12 hectares, 9 being actually in production. The grape varieties are mainly cabernet sauvignon; the soil is composed of deep gravel. Lamothe-Bouscaut produces an average of 48,000 bottles per year. Château Lamothe-Bouscaut’s wines are exclusively commercialized by the wine merchant Lucien Lurton & Fils, founded in 1992 by Sophie Lurton and her brothers and sisters. The distribution channel is traditional.
