The Domaine Morey et Fils was established in 1919 by Fernand Morey, Marc's father, upon his return from World War I. He took over his father's 2-hectare estate and settled in part of the current premises, an old coaching inn. In the 1930s, Fernand began bottling his wines and expanding the property. In 1944, his son Marc joined the business, and the name was changed to Domaine Fernand Morey et Fils. Together, they built the barrel cellar in 1946. After Fernand's death in 1964, Marc and his wife Madeleine continued to grow the business, constructing a large building in 1972. In 1977, Marc's daughter Marie-Josèphe and her husband Bernard Mollard joined, and the name changed to Domaine Marc Morey et Fils. Bernard established a small trading company in 1997, and in 2002, the estate's storage cellar was built. Today, although Bernard is officially retired, he remains actively involved with his wife and daughter Sabine, who joined the business in 2003.
