About this winery

The vineyard sources for our wines stretch from western Sonoma county, some five miles from the Pacific to Carneros, just north of San Francisco Bay. The majority of our vineyards are owned and farmed by Kistler Vineyards. We also have long standing relationships with some of the finest growers in Sonoma and Napa County. Product notes

Two heritage selections of Pinot Noir inform all of our Pinot Noirs. Originally hailing from a Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy, we’ve been propagating these two selections for the last twenty-five years. They, like our Chardonnay clone are very low yielding, resulting in wines with a natural density and concentration of flavor, balanced by elegant natural acids and elevated aromatics.

Tasting notes

"The 2018 comes from a cooler Russian River site and offers a complex bouquet of red currants, smoked earth, ground pepper, and exotic floral and rose hip notes. Rich, medium-bodied, and seamless on the palate, its incredibly classy as well as perfectly balanced."

This is really crazy, with dried strawberries and magnet shavings. Unique aromas and flavors from the soil. It’s medium-bodied with a compact palate, showing excellent depth and polished tannins. Goes on for minutes. Drink after 2026, but already superb.

Aromas of ripe red fruit, cured meat and a hint of wet stone. Medium-bodied with gentle tannins. Delicate, but there is good presence and depth here. The mineral backbone really helps to keep the palate going. Slightly more savory towards the finish. Very satisfying. Spicy. Drink or hold
