About this winery

When Laura Catena decided to create a line of wines of her very own, she made a conscious decision to pay tribute to the traditional, small, family, growers and to a group of special vineyard sites in Mendoza, Argentina. The name La Posta refers to La Posta del Viñotero – ‘the Tavern of the Grape Grower’, found in every local village where farmers go to get their mail after a hard day in the vineyards. There, they meet to drink wine, laugh, and tell stories, agreeing to agree or disagree...

Product notes

La Posta wines are single-grower, single-vineyard wines, that aim to explore the distinct and diverse appellations of Mendoza. Each wine name pays tribute to the passionate grower families the winery partners with. This wine is named after grower Angel Paulucci, whose family has made wine in Italy since the early 1800s. Fruit is sourced from 43 year old vines that sit at 3050 feet elevation in Ugarteche Vineyard in Lujan de Cuyo. Grapes are hand harvested to ensure optimal fruit selection.

Tasting notes

Vibrant red colour with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, ripe plums and violets along with notes of toasty oak. On the palate, the fresh berry flavours mingle with spice notes and a hint of soft caramel on the finish. This is a creamy, medium-bodied and well- structured wine that is incredibly full of life. Goes great with everything from hamburgers and chicken to pasta and mild cheeses.
