About this winery

Historically Macon was known primarily as a source of vast quantities of cheap white wines made by village cooperatives - reliable everyday wines, but no match for the great whites of the Cote de Beaune. December 2021 (Vintage 2019)

Sliced pears, green apples, lemon curd, white grapefruit and custard pastries on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with a deliciously creamy texture and fresh acidity. Hints of vanilla. Pretty finish. Drink now.

Vignes en coteau exposées nord sur des argiles marneuses. Étonnamment salin, frais, vif, c'est un délicieux bouquet de fruits blancs.

Neal Martin, June 2021 (Vintage 2019)

  • The 2019 Saint-Véran Cuvée "La Combe Desroches" comes from two parcels located on deep chalky soil and is aged in 20% oak barrels. It has a rich and generous bouquet with yellow plum, apricot and white peach, traces of wild honey emerging with aeraton. The palate is well balanced and quite viscous in texture, plenty of glycerol here with caramelised pear and stem ginger, a touch of rhubarb towards the finish. A lovely wine.

Doré brillant. Avec ses notes de mirabelles, abricot et beurre frais, La Combe Desroches précède une trame de bouche ample et riche, un chardonnay gras, doté d'une belle énergie, avec son amertume fine. Prêt à boire.
