First established by the Romans in 30 BC, the hilly, south-facing slopes and smooth-pebbled soils of the region provide the ideal terroir for planting classic Rhone varietals like: Grenache, Mourvedre, and of course Syrah. Product notes

Deeply rooted in the stony hillsides of the south Rhone Valley swept by the mistral, the stout vines of RASTEAU with their grapes ripened in the warmth of the pebbles produce wines that are both powerful and elegant. ln 2006, Cave de Rasteau began calling its production ORTAS and has been marketing it worldwide under this name ever since.

Tasting notes

A deep ruby red, aromas of red fruit, spices and liquorice upheld by a nice structure and softened tannins.
