Product notes

Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri is the oldest wine Estate from Rioja. This property belongs to two villages; Labastida Alava and San Vicente de La Sonsierra from Rioja Alta. Some of the best grape growers from those two villages have vineyards touching the Estate of Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri and for more than 30 years the grapes were brought to Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri. In 2009 they decided to separate those grapes from the others of the Estate and make two new wines called “Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida” and “Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de San Vicente”. Lindes de Remelluri will show the best profile from the outstanding villages of Labastida and San Vicente de La Sonsierra.

Production notes

Luis Gutiérrez, (Vintage 2018)

Produced with grapes from suppliers, the 2018 Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida comes from a cooler and wetter year not without challenge. A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano, it fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in barrels of different sizes and origins for 13 months. This is more reticent and serious, with a grainy sensation on the palate, beautifully textured. It has more austere tannins. This is probably the finest vintage for this wine so far. 2018 has produced many great wines. 87,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2020.

(Vintage 2018)

A firm, linear red with black licorice, black cherries and violets. Medium-bodied, yet the tannins are round and pretty. All here. Drink or hold.

(Vintage 2019)

Vibrant and juicy Rioja with black cherries, white pepper, grilled herbs, potpourri and a lovely balsamic undertone. A medium-bodied Rioja with lots of fine, chalky tannins that spread across the palate with a linear mouth-feel. Understated, refined and very drinkable. Drink now or hold for a few years.
