SOIL: Poor clay soil with many pebbles. CLIMATE: Continental Atlantic, dry and windy, with very harsh, long and cold winters and short, dry and hot summers. An area with an average annual rainfall of 400 mm, with two clearly differentiated areas. AGEING: Aged 24 months in American oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle.

Tasting notes

Intense picota cherry red colour, clear and shiny. Aromas of ripe red fruits, practically in compote with notes of fresh baked bread as well as balsamic hints. Intense and fruity at the same time, with notes of blackberry and spices and well-structured hints of wood. A very elegant, fine and silky wine. With well-rounded tannins and just the right touch of acidity to bring freshness and vivacity throughout long bottle ageing. Intense and prolonged finish.

(Vintage 2016)

A tight, focused Pesquera with blackberry, blueberry and black-walnut character. Medium to full body, firm and fine tannins and a pretty finish. Lavender and violet undertones. Drinkable now, but better in 2022.
