About this winery

History Château DURFORT-VIVENS owes its name to the Durfort de Duras, a powerful family in the South-West of France that came to Margaux in the fourteenth century. Loads of sweet tobacco and berry character, with hints of chocolate on the nose. Full body, with meat and earth. Juicy finish. Tannins build on the finish

Charming bouquet with a hint of flowers and plums. Suave and very concentrated, but there’s enough acidity to give it drive – a combination of richness and Margaux elegance. Everything is in place.

Barrel sample. Ripely juicy, a wine that feels fresh as much as rich. It shows extreme berry juice as well as acidity. But there is also some density.

(Vintage 2009)

(Vintage 2009)

Relatively youthful ruby-garnet hue. Aromatically pleasant with a bouquet of blackcurrant and blueberry. Ripe with some sweetness and added density on the mid palate. Tannins supple and round. Length on the finish and, at last, some Margaux typicality and elegance.
