About this winery

Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's greatest domaines. Originally the company was a classic negotiant business, based in Nuits St. Georges and engaged in the buying and selling of wine but not the production of it. After seven generations of steadily acquiring properties throughout the Cotes de Nuits, the Cotes de Beaune, Cotes Chalonnaise and now Chablis, the Faiveley family have established themselves as the most important vineyard owners in Burgundy, with 120 hectares of...

October 2019 (Vintage 2018)

Outer quote mark The Blagny of Puligny-Montrachet' is how Jérôme Flous describes this rich, focused, iodine-scented white from a high-altitude parcel just below La Truffière. Zesty, fine and boasting a pH of 3.2, it's elegant, well balanced and harmonious, easily digesting its 50% new wood and finishing with a taut, mouthwatering flourish. Faiveley nailed its top whites in 2018. (TA)

Allen Meadows, June 2020 (Vintage 2018)

*Burghound Outstanding!!* Strong sulfur overshadows everything but background floral and citrus hints. Otherwise there is very good volume to the succulent and plush flavors that are both vibrant and sappy, all wrapped in an appealingly textured finish that offers notably better depth and persistence. This relatively forward effort should be approachable young yet reward 5 to 8 years of cellaring as well.

November 2019 (Vintage 2018)

Barrel sample. Mealy/leesy citrus, both fruity and savoury at the moment. Hint of clementine scent. Power and depth here but the barrels have given a creamy roundness. Long, crisp finish. Mouth-watering and promising greater complexity

Stephen Tanzer, 2018 (Vintage 2017)
