Production notes

The wine went through 20 days of maceration with regular punch downs and top offs. It was aged for 10-14 months in french barriques and then bottle aged for another 6 months.

Tasting notes

Saia, its name taken from the Arab word for the irrigation canals built centuries ago to collect rainwater, is made with 100 percent Nero d’Avola, an extraordinary grape capable of producing intense, full bodied wines. The alberello method of cultivation and the aging in French oak make it a wine that stands alone in its category. Fruity aromas with notes of mature fruit and spice.
