MICHAEL SCHACHNER, (Vintage 2017)

Blackberry, cassis and minerally aromas fill out the nose on this blend of Malbec and Cabernet. Clamping tannins are a touch hard, while this tastes of oak spice, wild berry fruits and herbs. An oak-rich finish comes with mildly astringent tannins. Decant if drinking now. Best through 2027.

March 2019 (Vintage 2017)

Very dense blackcurrant, elderberry and roasted-artichoke nose pulls you into the powerful and structured palate that has ample tannic power. Long, nobly dry finish that makes you want a great steak right now. Try to wait at least until 2020. A blend of 55 per cent malbec and 45 per cent cabernet sauvignon.

Michael Schachner, January 2018 (Vintage 2016)

Large-scale berry aromas are foresty and mossy, with a black pepper note providing spice. This Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon blend is dense and chewy, with bright acidity affording balance. Blackberry and cassis flavors are full and fresh, not baked and jammy. On the finish, this is at one moment savory and the next it's slightly raisiny. Drink through 2025.

Luis Gutiérrez, October 2019 (Vintage 2018)

The 2017 Beso de Dante is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Franc from Vista Flores and Altamira in the Valle de Uco. The varieties are very nicely integrated, classical and polished with some Cabernet flavors and tannins. 18,000 bottles. It was bottled in November 2018.

Stephen Tanzer, July 2018 (Vintage 2016)

Bright medium ruby. Pure, vibrant aromas of blueberry, blackberry, graphite and licorice, lifted by a violet topnote. Densely packed and sweet but a step up in energy and definition from the Old Vine Malbec owing to its floral lift and saline minerality. This pristine, lively wine conveys an almost Pinot-like sappiness and a low-yield mouthfeel. It should expand with another year or two of cellaring and evolve slowly and gracefully. A superb example of its vintage.
