About this winery

The winery was established in 1986 in La Morra, a town in the heart of the Langhe that has always been renowned for the greatness of its vineyards, some of which were mentioned in town records going back as far as 1250. They began with 2 hectares, and over the years have managed to acquire the most prestigious, historic crus for the production of Barolo, such as La Serra, Brunate, Cerequio, Sarmassa, Rocche dell'Annunziata and Fossati, and excellent vineyards for Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and...

Tasting notes

Unsurprisingly more evolution compared to the 2011s in this tasting: brick red in colour with an orangy rim. A lot more expressive on the nose with ripe red fruit, cedar, leather, balsamic notes, spices. Very impressive. On the palate also more open, still with firm grip and quite tight. Fresh, mineral, silky, very long. Somehow approachable after 7 years in bottle, but this should be given more time to improve.

Antonio Galloni, (Vintage 2009)

(Vintage 2009)

Pale brick, with some garnet at the core. Roasted coffee, toasted chocolate and some dried herb, with dried tobacco, tar and lots of spice character. Juicy, brisk acidity lifts the tarry, chocolatey palate. Firm to high, resolving tannins. Mellow, long, spiced finish. (TJ)
