About this winery

Xavier Vignon is a consultant oenologist who works for many of the leading estates of the southern Rhône. He is passionate about the terroir and style of the wines of the area, while at the same time believing that by selecting and blending different cuvées, grape varieties, estates, he can create a wine which has its own character and perfectly represents Appellation shown on the label. And he has been remarkably successful in proving that he can do exactly that.

Product notes

Rich from his experiences as a "flying winemaker" in Oceania, California, Bordeaux, and Champagne, Xavier Vignon is now a consulting oenologist in the Rhône Valley. He also offers a range of classic and refined cuvées, like this affordable Côtes du Rhône. Fermentation at moderate temperatures to promote a slow extraction of aromatic components. Co-fermentation of grape varieties for greater aromatic complexity. 4 weeks of maceration. Aged 80% in concrete tanks to enhance grape expression and maintain fruit purity, and 20% in oak barrels for 12 months.

Tasting notes

A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. This wine is all about fruit, with aromas of red and black fruits, licorice candy, and a subtle spicy note. Perfect with lamb tagine with dried fruits, green peppercorn duck, or a beautiful braised beef cut.
