About this winery

Borgogno was established in 1761 by Bartolomeo Borgogno and has long been one of the most recognized names in Piedmont. Evidence of the estate's fame comes from the selection of Borgogno Barolo as the wine served at the celebration dinner for the Italian Unification in 1861. Product notes

It ages in “small” oak barrels (if 33hl is small!!) which enhance the elegance of Nebbiolo that after three years of ageing it will become Barolo.

Production notes

Drawn from the best Barolo crus, this “no name” wine pokes gentle fun at the red tape that sometimes controls viticulture. It comes from our best Crus that give us the true traditional Barolo: CANNUBI, LISTE and FOSSATI, three single vineyards located in the district of Barolo.

Tasting notes

This dry cherry-red coloured wine features medium balsamic, woody, empyreumatic, spicy, floral and fruity scents and offers a broad texture as well as firm tannins.

(Vintage 2017)

Interesting nose of red cherries, nettles and bright spice. Medium-bodied with lightly firm tannins and the same combination of fruit, herb and oak influence through to the end. Savory and spicy. Different and fun. Drink now.
