About this winery

Located in heart of the Sancerre region is Domaine Vincent Delaporte and Sons, a family business which has been passed from father to son since the 17th century. The winery is located in the charming village of Chavignol, recognized as, perhaps, the prettiest village in the region and for its famous goat cheese. Product notes

Old vines of more than 50 years old are grown on siliceous sols, according to the principles of reasoned and traditional farming in order to give the maximum respect to the environment.

Production notes

Once the grapes have reached the optimal level of ripeness, they are hand-harvested and sorted in boxes. The fruit is pressed in whole bunches, uncrushed, in a pneumatic press. Pressing is carried out slowly and gently to obtain a clear, top-quality juice. It is transferred in 600 liter barrels (1 to 3 years Tronçais oak) for fermentation. Production is limited to approximately 22 barrels per year. The wine is aged 12 months, with regular stirring of the lees. This practice was currently used in the past. In mid-September, the wine is racked, fined, and lightly filtered before bottling, in October.

Tasting notes

The wine is clear, with golden highlights. The very elegant bouquet opens on flint notes. The palate is silky, rich, and delicate with a hint of well-blended oak.
