About this winery
Founded in 1584, Gosset is the oldest wine producer in Champagne. At that time, the wines of Champagne were still table wines produced from pinot noir and chardonnay; the wines from Ay were ranked with the wines of Beaune as the finest in France. It was not until the 18thCentury that the production of sparkling wine began; to this day Gosset uses the same antique flask bottle that was first used in the 1700’s. Tasting notes
IN THE GLASS: golden yellow with delicate green tints typical of the great Blanc de Blancs. Very fine bubbles.
ON THE NOSE: It is both mineral and floral with aromas of flowers and white fruits, apricot and Mirabelle plum. Very light notes of lemon, citrus fruits, crystallized quince and honey.
ON THE PALATE: Harmonious, complex and delicate with a great freshness. A crisp and well-structured champagne with a gentle silky finish.
FOOD MATCHES: This cuvée, with all it’s finesse, elegance and freshness is the perfect aperitif. Perfect also with scallops, with a crab remoulade or gougères.
