About this winery

The long history of the Montresor family boasts illustrious ancestors, like the Count Claude de Montresor, the prime counsellor of Duke D'Orleans in France in 1600 (his writings, "Memoirs", dating back to 1663, are considered of great interest). Product notes

If there is one key step in the production of Amarone, it is the drying phase. The grapes, placed in barns, slowly dehydrate for 120 days and are enriched with all these flavors so typical of wine. Pressing and fermentation follow to finish with a slow aging in oak barrels which gives the wine refinement and complexity. This system makes it possible to have concentrations of aromas and flavors that make this wine a journey to discover dozens of different feelings that sometimes go beyond our memories. It is a wine that every 20 to 30 minutes develops and changes in the glass with a growing of flavors.

Tasting notes

Garnet color of good intensity. Exuberant nose with aromas of cocoa, candied prune, spices, wood with subtle vegetal notes. This dry red has a pleasant freshness and is provided with fleshy tannins. Faithful to the aromas perceived on the nose, it evokes flavors of roasting, cooked fruit and tobacco. It reveals a full texture that lingers on a long finish. Ideal with rich and spicy dishes, osso buco, game and matured and spicy cheeses.

The bouquet is redolent of apricot, tropical fruit, honey and toasted pine nut. You are also treated to a pure note of flinty minerality that always comes through in this wine. This Chardonnay requires a few extra years of bottle aging before it reaches its optimal drinking phase. (...)
