Tasting notes

The Muscat for this selection (75% Muscat d'Alsace, 25% Muscat Ottonel) is sourced entirely from the Herrenweg vineyard, the average age of the vines is 32 years old planted on gravelly/silt soils. The gravelly soils give the wine fantastic aromatics. The grapes were picked relatively early to avoid excessive richness. The fermentation lasted until Christmas; it came out at 12.6% Alc and is indice 2, with the little sweetness balancing out the grapes natural bitterness.
