Agricola Punica is a joint venture between Cantina Sociale di Santadi, Tenuta San Guido, Antonello Pilloni and the legendary Italian consultant oenologist, Giacomo Tachis. In 2002, Agricola Punica acquired a 370-acre estate including two vineyards, Barrua and Narcao. The estate is located near the town of Santadi in the Sulcis region of southern Sardinia. The sloping terrain has clayey, sandy and calcareous soil of a medium consistency. Sardinia is a wine-growing region that pits itself against the rest of Italy, especially in the production of quality wines. Local producers are rediscovering indigenous grape varieties such as carignano, cannonau, torbato, bovale and vermentino which produce original, sumptuous and very fruity wines. According to Dottore Sebastiano Rosa, "It was Giacomo Tachis who guided us towards Sardinia and the Carignano. He convinced us that you could make an excellent wine made with Carignano. We acquired this estate in 2002 because we knew the potential of the region, ”
