In Mercurey, a village nestled in Burgundy on the famous Côte Chalonnaise, the Michel Julliot Estate, which has existed for four generations, cultivates 30 hectares of vines producing a large selection of the best "climats" Mercurey has to offer as well as several Côte de Beaune crus. The quality of a wine is the result of the straightforwardness and the brightness of its color, the delicacy and the clarity of its aromas, the intensity, the complexity, and the persistancy of its flavors. While all of our wines remain true to this noble conception of quality, they stem from the successful alliance of an acclaimed grape variety, a unique "terroir " and exceptional people. As Michel and Laurent Juillot’s wines are referenced by a great number of Michelin starred restaurants and guaranteed by the many prizes and medals they have been awarded, the Estate’s production singularly demonstrates a philosophy of quality upheld by a family of wine makers who not only admire, but also respect their terroir. Our fruity and elegant Mercurey red wines defend the character and the excellence of this vineyard whose reputation preceeds itself. As regards to the white wines, they are packed with an extraordinary mineral backbone, offering a fantastic follow-up of floral and fruit scents. Some cuvées, those coming from the most famous plots of the commune, such as the Clos des Barraults or the Clos Tonnerre, reveal a rich expressiveness and possess a very remarkable aging potential. Today, this top-ranked range of wines is completed by two illustrious Côte de Beaune Grands Crus : the Corton-Perrières and the Corton-Charlemagne.
