Product notes
2015 showed record heat growing degree days, which encouraged the earliest bud break and bloom since the winery's beginning in 1971, and one of the earliest harvest dates on record. The large crop required fruit thinning to ensure that there was fermentation space in the cellar. The winery has never seen a hotter year in Oregon. Production notes
Handpicked, handsorted and carefully destemmed. Made with 100% Estate organic grapes, certified by the Oregon Department of Agriculture. 100% barrel-aged in French oak for 17 months with 37% new barrels.
Tasting notes
Aromas of black tea and ripe raspberries, followed by bright flavors of rainier cherries, with a subtle white pepper on the finish. Pair with wild salmon, seared Ahi tuna, grilled venison sausage, duck, pork and rack of lamb.
