About this winery

Talenti is a gorgeous estate located in one of the world's most picturesque regions - the valley of the river Orcia, south of the legendary hill town of Montalcino, near the beautiful (and beautifully preserved) medieval monastery of Sant'Antimo, where if you were lucky, you might still hear the monks singing beneath the ancient Romanesque arches of the church built in the early 12th century: they continue to do so every day. (Vintage 2017)

Talenti’s Piero selection comes from a gently sloping, southeast-facing parcel at 410 metres. Surrounded by forest, the 1.95ha vineyard is characterised by Galestro soil. While aged in a combination of new and second passage French oak tonneaux, the 2017 comes across as less oak driven than in previous vintages. It's articulate and fetching as it conveys chopped green herbs, tobacco and traces of chocolate. Firm, dry tannins frame ripe, concentrated black cherries with rocky, mineral notes tucked in. A compact finish promises solid mid-term drinking.

(Vintage 2017)

There’s freshness and balance to this 2017 Brunello, with dark-cherry, walnut and dried-flower aromas that follow through to a medium body, firm tannins and a long, vivid finish. Nicely done for the vintage. Drink or hold.

(Vintage 2017)

A broad, loamy red, this offers steeped cherry, plum, camphor and leafy vegetal flavors, backed by muscular tannins. The fruit flavors emerge again on the finish, yet the balance tips toward the tannins. Fine energy. Best from 2025 through 2040.

(Vintage 2017)

Mid ruby. Generous nose with hints of oak, malt and cherry. Deep and lush and with vibrant acidity and polished grainy tannins streamlining the whole. Captivating.
