Lindores Abbey Distillery sits nestled on the site of the ruined Lindores Abbey, a stone’s throw from the Tay estuary in the Kingdom of Fife. Established in 1191, Lindores Abbey lays claim to the oldest written reference to whisky making in Scotland, in 1494. After a break of 523 years, spirit is once again flowing from the copper stills at Lindores Abbey. Founder Drew McKenzie Smith’s great grandfather bought the property in 1913. Nose: Elegant, soft, mellow vanilla, caramel notes playing with orchard fruits and sweet pear drops. Reminiscent of toffee apples! Palate: Smooth with a creamy texture and a perfect balance of mellow vanilla, dried fruits, citrus touches with a hint of spice.
